Economy, Workforce Development and Road Repair Top Priorities

Bloomfield Township—State Representative Mike McCready announced today he will seek the Republican nomination for the 12th State Senate district.

“Michigan has made a lot of progress in the last few years but there is still much more to do. Michigan’s economy still needs improvement and too many of our high school and college graduates do not have the skills needed by employers. We must remedy this and do a better job fixing our roads. One of my priorities is making sure Lansing meets and exceeds the financial commitment to road repair made by the legislature in 2015,” said Mike McCready.

Senate District 12 is wholly within Oakland County and is made up of the Cities of Auburn Hills, Keego Harbor, Pontiac and Sylvan Lake along with the Townships of Addison, Bloomfield, Independence, Oakland, Orion, Oxford and Southfield and is currently represented by State Senator Jim Marleau.

Prior to his election as State Representative of the 40th district Mike served as a Bloomfield City commissioner and Mayor and he ran McCready and Associates, a small business that has represented commercial furniture manufacturers in Michigan since 1991.

Mike has represented Bloomfield Township for the last 5 years and Bloomfield Township has cast more votes in the 2010 and 2014 GOP primaries than any other Township or City in the district.
